Tech city initiative in Brighton secures £170m investment

The government has announced a £170-million City Deal for Brighton to develop a ‘Tech City South’ that will develop the start-up creative and digital businesses that are already setting up in the area.

A recommendation for greater investment was made in the Brighton Fuse Report which was produced by the National Centre for Universities and Business, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the University of Brighton, the University of Sussex and Wired Sussex.

Their recommendations included investment in office space and digital infrastructure, according to statement from the NCUB.
