More than 70 UK businesses and universities are set to share £16 million as winners of the third round of the Agri-Tech Catalyst fund.
The fund, run by Innovate UK and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, aims to boost collaborative research between scientists and businesses working in agriculture, shortening the time between research and commercialisation.
The UK government will supply £9.8m of the total funding in this round, with the remainder coming from industry. The Department for International Development has contributed £10m to the fund to support technology transfer to developing countries.
