US investor buys UK science parks

The US private equity firm Angelo Gordon has bought five privately-owned UK science parks.

The Financial Times reports that the sale of the parks, which are part of the Best Network of science parks owned by La Salle Investment Managers, is understood to have cost £95 million.

The five parks are: the Edinburgh Technopole; Hexagon Tower in Manchester; Langstone Technology Park in Havant; the Wilton Centre in Teesside; and Kent Science Park (pictured). The latter is the largest of the five, and has Novartis as a tenant.
