The UK government’s innovation agency Innovate UK has said that a planned programme of loans will help smaller companies to scale up.
Opening the organisation’s 2016 conference in Manchester on 2 November, chief executive Ruth McKernan confirmed that the agency was expecting to open its loans competition for small companies before the end of this financial year.
An announcement was understood to be imminent following an earlier government decision to convert more of the agency’s funding budget into loans.
