Skills-boosting technology wins UK’s Africa prize

The UK's Royal Academy of Engineering has awarded its Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation to Godwin Benson, a systems engineer from Nigeria.

Benson was rewarded for developing Tuteria, a mobile technology that links students with qualified tutors.

“Users find the skill they want to learn on an app on their phone, set their budget and wait to be connected to the nearest tutor,” the RAEng explained in an announcement on 24 May.
