£1.5m fund launched to accelerate medical technology development

The National Institute for Health Research has created a fund called i4i Connect to support companies’ efforts to commercialise medical technologies.

The fund, called i4i Connect, is part of the NIHR’s Invention for Innovation programme. It will provide about 10 projects with up to £150,000 each over 6 to 12 months, the institute announced on 8 August.

Eligible projects should be carried out by small and medium-sized businesses. They should be in the early stages of development or should have demonstrated initial success without yet attracting substantial investment.
