The Future Cities and Transport Systems Catapult centres will become a single entity, the UK government has announced.
The new catapult will operate from two sites, London and Milton Keynes, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said on 23 October. The merger should be completed by April 2019, a spokesman for Innovate UK, the body within the umbrella funding agency UK Research and Innovation that manages the Catapult network.
“By combining the expertise of the Future Cities and Transport Systems Catapults, they are bettering the offer to innovative UK companies that are improving the way our cities work and revolutionising how we get around,” the interim executive chairman of Innovate UK Ian Campbell said.
