Report estimates 114 new jobs and increased research spending have resulted from scheme
Innovate UK’s programme of business loans has boosted research investment and should be continued, according to an assessment of the pilot scheme.
The government funder’s scheme, which offers loans to businesses for innovative projects, has channelled around £50 million to companies since it started in 2018. In July, Innovate UK announced that it would extend the pilot to the end of 2020 with two further competitions worth £25m.
