UKRI seeks to seed ideas for zero emissions with £141m fund

Winners of £2m initial funding will be able to compete for £139m in future

UK Research and Innovation has opened two competitions to fund new technologies to decarbonise heavily industrialised areas.

The government’s main research funder will initially make £2m available for businesses, with a further £139m to be distributed later by UKRI to fund deployment of successful ideas from the first round.
