Imperial College London’s plan to develop a 14-acre site in west London into laboratory and office space has received the green light from local planners.

On 3 September, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham unanimously approved a proposal for the £1.3-billion development of the southern portion of Imperial’s White City Campus.

The plan envisages space dedicated to research that will bring together scientists, corporate partners and entrepreneurs. It will, however, take 20 years to complete.
