First coronavirus vaccine to enter clinical trials ‘in a few days’

As concerns raised that the UK lacks capacity to manufacture enough vaccine for everyone

A coronavirus vaccine could enter clinical trials within days, a global vaccine expert has said at a Science Media Centre briefing just days after the World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.

Melanie Saville, director of vaccine research and development at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (Cepi), said the six vaccine development projects funded by the coalition were making “good progress”.
