Engineering firms identify skills gap among graduate recruits

              

Less than half of UK engineering recruits have necessary skills, survey finds

A group of leading engineers has called for more UK government support after a survey revealed a “skills gap” among graduates entering the profession.

The survey, carried out by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, found that less than half of new engineering recruits (49 per cent) have the necessary technical or soft skills needed to work within the engineering industry.
