£150m from aerospace institute suspended due to Covid delays

       

Trade body describes move as “particularly disappointing to small companies” developing net-zero aviation technology

The UK’s state-funded Aerospace Technology Institute is suspending bids for new research projects until next year, after Covid-related delays to projects led to demand outstripping this year’s available budget.

The ATI was created as part of the Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government’s industrial strategy in 2013 with the aim of strengthening links between academia and industry.
