Bioethics body launches ‘public dialogue’ on gene editing

           

The dialogue comes as government is considering approving the promising but controversial technique in livestock

The Nuffield Council on Bioethics has announced a “public dialogue” to explore the ethical implications of genome editing in farmed animals.

The dialogue aims to identify areas of greatest public interest and concern, as well as the “values and principles” that underlie participants’ views.
