Research Professional News reviews key reactions to UK’s new plan
The UK’s business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng unveiled his new Innovation Strategy on 22 July, which he said builds on lessons learned during the pandemic to “build back better” and “cement the UK’s position as a world-leader in science, research and innovation”.
The strategy specifies several missions and strategic technologies for the UK to back, and makes a variety of promises such as to expand intellectual property education programmes for researchers and to set up the Government Office for Technology Transfer.
