Sunak to use ‘Brexit freedoms’ to encourage innovation

Prime minister tells CBI conference he wants “most pro-innovation regulatory environment in the world”

Prime minister Rishi Sunak has said the UK government will use its “Brexit freedoms” to set up the “most pro-innovation regulatory environment in the world”.

Sunak told delegates at the Confederation of British Industry’s 2022 annual conference on 21 November that innovation would be “a defining focus of this government”, and that he wanted to lead a country where mindset and culture of innovation “permeates every aspect of what we do”.
