UK aerospace institute to reopen suspended fund to new bids

Record £685 million three-year budget means applications will resume after being paused due to Covid-19

The UK’s state-funded Aerospace Technology Institute will soon reopen to new funding applications thanks to a record budget increase, after it was forced to temporarily suspend bids due to the pandemic.

Last year, the institute—which funds innovation projects in civil aerospace technology and manufacturing—suspended bids for new research projects until 2022 due to delays in R&D activity with Covid-19 pushing the previous year’s projects into the 2021 financial year.
