NIHR changes name to include social care research

Health funder also adds £5 million a year to its social care research budget

The National Institute for Health Research in the UK is changing its name to reflect its growing commitment to research on social care.

While its acronym will remain unchanged, the funder will now be known as the National Institute for Health and Care Research, it announced on 6 April.
