Edinburgh to host ‘game-changing’ super computer

Government-funded exascale computer at the University of Edinburgh planned to support pioneering research

The government has named the University of Edinburgh as the place that will host a “game-changing” exascale computer.

Edinburgh already houses the top-end Archer2 computer but the new one will be 50 times more powerful than that and is expected to “revolutionise breakthroughs” by supporting critical research.
