The academic library support service Jisc Collections has agreed a five-year contract with the science publisher Elsevier for universities to access journals on the latter's ScienceDirect platform.
In a press release on 7 November, Elsevier said that the agreement would secure access to around 1,850 journals at a lower cost than the industry average.
The deal also includes agreement between Jisc Collections and Elsevier to cooperate on several Open Science opportunities, it said.
