Nicola Wright, director of the library at the London School of Economics and Political Science and of the British Library of Political and Economic Science, will take over as chairwoman of Research Libraries UK from March 2017.
A press release issued by RLUK on 10 November announced that Wright had been appointed vice-chairwoman of RLUK and would take over from current chairman John MacColl of the University of St Andrews in March 2017. The organisation represents 37 libraries mostly in research-intensive universities.
Wright has extensive experience in library management and during her career has focused on leading change in order to meet the demands of a digital environment. She has worked at Imperial College London, the School of Oriental and African Studies and the British Library.
