Jisc and Jstor plan to unleash UK university collections

Agreement will enable universities to make digital collections more widely available for teaching and research

UK higher education IT firm Jisc has teamed up with the digital library platform Jstor to allow universities to make their digital collections, such as primary sources and archival material, freely available worldwide.

Through the partnership, institutions will be able to add their digitised content to Jstor’s Open Community Collections programme, which enables libraries, museums and cultural organisations to create free resources for teaching and research.
