Publishers respond to call for cheaper ebooks for universities

Publishers Association says it understands librarians’ ‘frustrations’ and calls for ‘proper investment in HE’

The Publishers Association has responded to university librarians’ calls for cheaper ebooks by calling for “proper investment in higher education”.

This follows calls from more than 900 UK-based librarians, researchers, lecturers and students for an urgent regulation of “unaffordable” ebooks market during the coronavirus crisis when access to online books is crucial for students and researchers.
