Taylor & Francis tests technology to prevent image duplication and manipulation in academic journal articles

A major academic publisher is trialling technology that checks if images in journal articles have been inappropriately duplicated or manipulated.

Taylor & Francis said it is trialling the software, called Proofig, which uses artificial intelligence, computer vision and image-processing to flag potential image duplication for further review.
