UK urged to move away from open-access publishing fees

                 

Eighty researchers sign open letter calling for an end to “outdated” read-and-publish models

Dozens of senior UK researchers have rallied behind an open letter calling for a move away from open-access models that charge fees to authors or their institutions.

Around 80 senior academics have signed the letter, including Stephen J Eglen, professor from the University of Cambridge, and David Colquhoun, professor at the University College London.
