Government ‘not minded’ to set up research-integrity body

The UK government does not accept a recommendation by the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee that it should consider setting up an external regulatory body overseeing research integrity.

The dismissal came in a statement published on 17 October as part of its response to the committee’s July report, “Peer review in scientific publications”.
