Life sciences strategy lacks drug-discovery support, say chemists

Urgent investment into drug discovery will be needed for the government’s life sciences strategy to have maximum economic impact, Robert Parker, the chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has said.

In a response to the government’s life-sciences strategy, which was published on 5 December, Parker said the government’s plans “must be matched by significant investment in drug discovery”.
