Warning of job losses at Northern Ireland universities

Higher education in Northern Ireland is facing a funding crisis that could result in substantial job losses among university staff, the trade union Unite warned on 28 July.

The union says it will “campaign vigorously” for increased funding to the assembly government’s Department of Employment and Learning, which faces a £40 million budget shortfall.
