Change of Antarctic merger meeting date criticised

Andrew Miller, Labour chairman of the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, has expressed concerns over the decision to bring forward a meeting on the future of the National Oceanography Centre and the British Antarctic Survey.

In an open letter to Duncan Wingham, chief executive of the Natural Environment Research Council, which runs the centres, Miller said it would mean the committee would not have chance to review the information provided to it by scientists.
