Members of the House of Lords debated the findings of a report on the modernisation of higher education in Europe on 11 October.
The report, published by the House of Lords EU sub-committee on 22 March, said the EU should boost investment in research and should not prioritise plans for introducing the European university ranking system called U-Multirank. It also urged the UK government to increase its participation in the Erasmus programme and to continue an Erasmus fee waiver scheme.
