Defra plans to spend £16m on bovine TB vaccine research

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs plans to spend £15.5 million on R&D into cattle and badger vaccines for bovine TB between 2012-13 and 2015-16, according to David Heath, the minister for agriculture and food.

Questioned by Paul Murphy, Labour MP for Torfaen, in the House of Commons on 28 November, Heath added that Defra has spent £39.7m on R&D in this area since 1994.
