The British Antarctic Survey should not be merged with the National Oceanography Centre until other options have been fully considered and those affected have been properly consulted on the plan, according to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee.
The recommendations were made to the Natural Environment Research Council on 31 October in an effort to persuade it to re-think the merger plan following a committee meeting earlier the same day.
