More support needed for surgical research, argues peer

More funding should be directed into surgical research, Bernard Robeiro, Conservative peer and former president of the Royal College of Surgeons, has said.

During a discussion in the House of Lords on R&D in the NHS and the work of the National Institute for Health Research, Robeiro suggested to Frederick Howe, parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department of Health, that more could be done to support the area.
