Take space-weather threats seriously, say MPs

The government is "somewhat complacent" about the risks of space-weather events on UK technology infrastructure, the House of Commons Defence committee has said.

The committee’s report, ‘Developing Threats: Electro-Magnetic Pulses’, focuses on threats posed by electromagnetic-pulse events, caused by certain space weather changes or the detonation of nuclear and EMP weapons at high altitudes.
