MPs slam Border Agency over visa system

The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee has criticised the UK Border Agency’s points-based visa system for being “poorly planned and ill thought-out”.

The report, Immigration: The Points Based System–Student Route, was published on 4 September. It follows UKBA’s decision to ban London Metropolitan University from recruiting overseas students on the grounds that it had failed to address “serious and systemic failings” in sponsoring such students.
