Education pulls cash from schools science programme

The Department for Education has cut its support for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Network from £1.5 million in 2011-12 to £250,000 in 2012-13.

In a House of Commons written answer on 7 January, Elizabeth Truss, parliamentary under secretary of state for education and childcare, outlined the department’s funding of science organisations since 2010-11.
