Ministers need to get involved in regenerative medicine strategy

The Regenerative Medicine Expert Group has recommended that a ministerial group for regenerative medicine should be established to monitor global policy in the field.

The establishment of a ministerial group for regenerative medicine would reflect the importance of the field to future healthcare and economic growth, the Regenerative Medicine Expert Group says in a report published on 24 March that sets out a UK pathway for regenerative medicine.

As well as monitoring global policy developments, the ministerial group should also provide a forum for discussion about regenerative medicine between industry and other interested parties, the group says.
