The UK looks set to lose any say in future framework plans if the promised referendum on European Union membership delivers a resounding ‘No’.
If Brexit were to happen there is no reason to suppose either the EU or the UK would want to break the arrangement by which the UK is a member of Horizon 2020, says Laura Greenhalgh, news editor of Research Europe.
In all likelihood, the UK would join Serbia, Israel and Norway in a list of 12 associated countries that compete for funds from the programme in exchange for a contribution.
