The House of Lords European Union Committee has described the government’s Brexit sectoral studies as “inconsistent and simplistic”, and has called for the release of their full versions.

Committee chairman Michael Jay wrote to Brexit secretary of state David Davis on 21 December—the same day that the 39 studies were released by the House of Commons Exiting the EU Committee.

Sections detailing “sector views” were excluded from the published documents, but Jay said these should be published as they do not include “negotiation sensitive” material.
