Academic health centre competition launched

    

Partnerships between universities and NHS organisations aim to develop disease treatments and transform care

The National Institute for Health Research has teamed up with NHS England and NHS Improvement in launching a competition for the next round of Academic Health Science Centres.

The centres, which are partnerships between universities and NHS organisations, aim to carry out research to tackle diseases, develop treatments and transform patient care, the NIHR said on 17 October. The new centres will run for five years from 1 April 2020.
