Green Party promises £6bn in R&D for industry

Party’s manifesto pledges a new research council and funding for research into alternatives to plastic

The Green Party has promised to scrap tuition fees and cut carbon emissions to zero by 2030 in its election manifesto.

In the document, published on 19 November, the party sets out a 10-year “Green New Deal” to tackle climate change with a combined investment of over £100 billion a year.
