Conservative and Labour parties promise reforms to the apprenticeship levy and a research tax cut

Reforms to the apprenticeship levy and a research tax cut are among the pledges made by the UK’s major political parties at the Confederation of British Industry’s annual conference.

In a statement directed at business leaders on 17 November, the day before the conference, prime minister Boris Johnson said the Conservative party would “get Brexit done and leave with the new deal that is already agreed—ending the uncertainty and confusion that has paralysed our economy”.
