Long-awaited look at global links puts potential loss of EU funding in focus
A much-anticipated review of international collaboration has set out a “new vision” for UK research, but in the process highlighted once again the damage that could be wrought by Brexit.
Adrian Smith and Graeme Reid (pictured) were tasked by the government with looking at alternative funding schemes for international collaboration amid uncertainty over whether the UK can or will want to sign up to future iterations of European Union Framework programmes. These include Horizon Europe, due to start in 2021 with a likely budget of around €100 billion.
