A petition calling for the UK and the European Union to sign a “deal for science” covering researcher mobility and Britain’s participation in the EU’s R&D schemes is gathering pace.
An agreement should be signed “as soon as possible” and must include the UK’s participation as an associate member in Horizon Europe, the EU’s next Framework programme, the petition says.
European countries should also commit to making the European Research Area a world leader in science and should agree to full mobility of researchers between the UK and the rest of Europe for all levels and career stages, it says.
