Every £1 of government investment generates £4 in return, study finds

Public investment in fusion energy has boosted the British economy by £1.4 billion over the past decade, with an average of 4,000 jobs created each year, a new report has found.

According to a study conducted by the London Economics consultancy for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the £346.7m invested in the UK Atomic Energy Authority between 2009 and 2019 resulted in a direct gain to the economy of £1.4bn.
