Evaluation comes as institutions prepare for big cuts to international development research
The government has commissioned an evaluation of the Newton Fund amid fears of cuts to the UK’s aid budget and calls from MPs not to refinance the international research fund unless it improves.
The “independent and robust analysis of the fund’s activities” will be carried out by the consulting firm Tetra Tech, the fund announced on 27 July.
