No answers on student loan reductions but response hints at big changes ahead
Universities could face minimum entry requirements for students, the government has revealed in its response to the Augar review—although it has stayed silent on the review’s recommendation of tuition fee reductions.
In its interim response to the review, published on 21 January, the Department for Education said it was “committed to introducing further reforms” on higher education, including “student finance terms and conditions, minimum entry requirements to higher education institutions, the treatment of foundation years and other matters”.
