Research Fortnight looks back over a deep-filled 12 months
We began the year by predicting that 2021 would be “just as action-packed” as 2020. Although we (thankfully) didn’t repeat the shock of fighting a new pandemic, the last one has continued to loom large—so we’ll call that correctly reading the runes.
Covid-19 has not been the only thing keeping the research world busy this year. Doubts remain over whether UK researchers will be able to take part in the European Union’s flagship R&D programme, while arguments over pensions and pay look set to drag on for the foreseeable future.
