‘Greater prioritisation’ needed in government’s Plan for Growth

Industrial Strategy Council says policies need to be ‘focused and financed at scale’ to succeed

The government must narrow the focus of its “ambitious” Plan for Growth if it is to fulfil its objective for the UK to become a science superpower, the Industrial Strategy Council has said.

In its final annual report, the council said the plan—which replaces the government’s 2017 industrial strategy—was “ambitious and expansive” and that “greater prioritisation” was needed for it to meet its objectives.
