Research leaders in Scotland and Wales have called for more focus on R&D ahead of the 6 May elections for Holyrood and the Senedd, despite a flurry of political promises for universities and businesses.

From Edinburgh to Cardiff, those seeking election in the two nations have promised tens of millions in increased funding, but research has been largely absent from leaders’ debates so far.
